Within the field of General Cardiology, diseases and disorders of the cardiovascular system are focused upon, including the heart, arteries, and veins. Within the field of Interventional Cardiology, diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases are catheter-based. Coronary Artery Disease, Vascular Disease, and Acquired Structural heart disease, as well as congenital conditions, are focused upon. Procedures such as balloon angioplasty, stenting, atherectomy, percutaneous valve repair, and embolic protection are specialties of the Interventional Cardiologist.
Peripheral Vascular Intervention describes procedures used to treat Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD), which causes plaque buildup in the arteries leading to the arms, head, abdomen, and most commonly, the legs. Blocked or narrowed arteries in areas other than the heart can cause strokes, pain, kidney problems, and high blood pressure. These procedures are minimally invasive and done on an outpatient basis. Examples of PVI procedures include Peripheral Catheterization, Peripheral Angiography, Renal Angiography, Peripheral Angioplasty, Arterial Thrombectomy, Peripheral Atherectomy, Intravascular Ultrasound, and Drug-Coated Balloons.
Our Vein Clinic treats vascular conditions such as Chronic Venous Insufficiency (CVI), Deep Vein Thrombosis, Pulmonary Embolisms, Varicose Veins, leg ulcers, and leg edema.
Our physician, Dr. Alex Caballero can treat a variety of vascular issues. Many of our tests and procedures can be performed in our office. We treat our patients with respectful, compassionate care.
